Privacy Policy

Welcome to www.amedu.com (the "Site") operated by Adam Matthew Education Inc. which is part of the Adam Matthew group of companies ("we" or “us”). 

This document tells you the terms of use on which you may make use of our Site and sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us.

All users of the Site are subject to the following terms and conditions of use and privacy policy (collectively, these “Terms of Use”).  Please read this document carefully before you start to use the Site.  By using our Site, you indicate that you accept these Terms of Use and that you agree to abide by them.  If you do not agree to these terms of use, please refrain from using our Site.  We may revise and update these Terms of Use at any time without notice by posting the amended terms to the Site.  Your continued use of the Site means that you accept and agree to the revised Terms of Use.  If you disagree with the Terms of Use (as amended from time to time) or are dissatisfied with the Site, your sole and exclusive remedy is to discontinue using the Site.

1. Access to our Site

You are responsible for making all arrangements necessary for you to have access to the Site.  You are also responsible for ensuring that all persons who access our Site through your internet connection are aware of these terms, and that they comply with them.  We reserve the right to restrict access to, withdraw or amend the service we provide on our Site without notice.

2. Registration  

Much of the information provided on our Site can be accessed without providing any personal information.  However, certain services on our Site are only available if you complete the registration process.

By completing the registration process, you are confirming that you are at least eighteen years of age.  This Site is not intended for children under the age of thirteen.  Please see the information below about our treatment of Site users who are under the age of thirteen.

In return for you using our Site and benefiting from our services, you agree to provide true, accurate, current and complete information about yourself where required in the registration form, and to ensure that this information is kept accurate, complete and up to date.

Once you have completed the registration process, you will have specified a username (email address) and a password. We would recommend that you do not use personally identifiable information as part of your username or password.  You must ensure that you keep your username and password in a safe and secure place and that you do not disclose them to anyone because you will be fully responsible for all activities which occur under your username and password. It is your responsibility to immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your username and password or any other breach of security as soon as you become aware of it.  We have the right to disable any username and password, whether chosen by you or allocated by us, at any time, if in our opinion you have failed to comply with any provision of these terms of use.

3. Intellectual Property

All copyright, database rights, trade marks and design rights (“Intellectual Property”) in our Site and in the material published on it belong to us and our licensors.  Those works are protected by copyright laws and treaties around the world.  All such rights are reserved.

You may print off one copy, and may download extracts, of any page(s) from our Site for your personal reference and you may draw the attention of others within your organization to material posted on our Site.

You must not modify the paper or digital copies of any materials you have printed off or downloaded in any way, and you must not use any illustrations, photographs, video or audio sequences or any graphics separately from any accompanying text.

Our status as the authors of material on our Site must always be acknowledged by using the following copyright notice: © [year] Adam Matthew Education Inc.  The status of any identified contributors must also be acknowledged.

You must not use any part of the materials on our Site for commercial purposes without obtaining a licence to do so from us or our licensors.

You may not reproduce, copy or redistribute the design or layout of our Site, individual elements of our Site’s design, or any trade marks or logos of the Adam Matthew Group without the express written permission of Adam Matthew Education Inc.

If you print off, copy or download any part of our Site in breach of these terms of use, your right to use our Site will cease immediately and you must, at our option, return or destroy any copies of the materials you have made.

4. Use of our Site

You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes.  You may link to our home page, provided you do so in a way that is fair and legal and does not damage our reputation or take advantage of it, but you must not establish a link in such a way as to suggest any form of association, approval or endorsement on our part where none exists. You must not establish a link from any website that is not owned by you.

Our Site must not be framed on any other site, nor may you create a link to any part of our Site other than the home page. We reserve the right to withdraw linking permission without notice.

You must not misuse our Site by knowingly introducing viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other material which is malicious or technologically harmful.  You must not attempt to gain unauthorized access to our Site, the server on which our Site is stored or any server, computer or database connected to our Site.  You must not attack our Site via a denial-of-service attack or a distributed denial-of service attack.  You must not disobey any policy or regulations including any code of conduct or other guidelines, established from time to time regarding use of the Site or any networks connected to this Site; and you must not falsify or delete any author attributions, legal or other proper notices or proprietary designations or labels of the origin or source of software or other material contained in a file that is permissibly uploaded.

You must not engage in any other conduct that restricts or inhibits anyone’s use or enjoyment of the Site, or which, as determined by us, may harm the Adam Matthew companies or users of the Site or expose them to liability.  You must not upload to or transmit on the Site any defamatory, indecent, obscene, harassing, violent, or otherwise objectionable material, or any material that is, or may be, protected by copyright, without permission from the copyright owner, or use the Site to violate the legal rights (including the rights of publicity and privacy) of others or to violate the laws of any jurisdiction.

Your failure to comply with any of the provisions herein may result in the termination of your access to the Site and may expose you to civil and/or criminal liability. 

We will not be liable for any loss or damage caused by a distributed denial-of-service attack, any intentional misuse of our Site or the distribution of viruses or other technologically harmful material that may infect your computer equipment, computer programs, data or other proprietary material due to your use of our Site or to your downloading of any material posted on it, or on any website linked to it.

5. Privacy and Your Data; Passive and Active Information Collection

We are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.  The Terms of Use apply only to information collected by us online, and not through other methods (e.g. telephone).  We may collect and process the following data about you:

  • Information about your computer, including where available your IP address, operating system and browser type, for system administration. This is statistical data about our users' browsing actions and patterns, and does not identify any individual;
  • Information that you provide by completing the registration process, buying products from us, and filling in forms on our Site;
  • Information relating to any transactions carried out between you and us on or in relation to our digital resources.

We may also obtain information about your general internet usage by using a cookie file which is stored on the hard drive of your computer. Cookies contain information that is transferred to your computer's hard drive. They help us to improve our Site and to deliver a better and more personalized service. They enable us:

  • To estimate our audience size and usage pattern.
  • To store information about your preferences, and so allow us to customize our Site according to your individual interests.
  • To speed up your searches.
  • To recognize you when you return to our Site.

You may refuse to accept cookies by activating the setting on your browser which allows you to refuse the setting of cookies. However, if you select this setting you may be unable to access certain parts of our Site. Unless you have adjusted your browser setting so that it will refuse cookies, our system will issue cookies when you log on to our Site.

We use Google Analytics to analyze the use of our Site.  Google Analytics generates statistical and other information about website use by means of cookies.  The information generated relating to our Site is used to create reports about the use of our Site.  Google will store this information.

We also use information held about you in the following ways:

  • To ensure that content from our Site is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your computer; 
  • To provide you with information, products or services that you request from us or which we feel may interest you; 
  • To carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into between you and us;
  • To notify you about changes to our service.

If you do not want to receive e-mail from us then please do NOT sign up to our mailing list and/or click the relevant box when you register or order products from us to indicate that you do not wish to be contacted.  If you have signed up to our mailing list and have changed your mind, simply choose the unsubscribe link in any email you receive from us.  This will ensure your name is removed and that you receive no further communications from us.

We may disclose your personal information to any member of our group, which means our subsidiaries, our holding companies and its subsidiaries.  We will not disclose your personal information to any third parties, except where:

  • we sell or buy any business or assets or where our business or assets are bought by any third party; or 
  • we need to comply with any legal obligations; or
  • we need to enforce our legal rights whether through legal proceedings or otherwise.

6.  Access to and Correction of Information; Third Party Websites

You have the right to ask us not to process your personal data for marketing purposes. You can exercise your right to prevent such processing by checking certain boxes on the forms we use to collect your data.  You may also send us an email at info@amedu.com to request access to or to correct or delete any personal information that you have provided to us, as required by law. Should you elect to have all of your information deleted, we may delete your entire user account.  Please also let us know if the personal information which we hold about you needs to be corrected or updated.

Our Site may, from time to time, contain links to and from the websites of third parties, including for example, our partner networks, advertisers and affiliates.  If you follow a link to any of these websites, please note that these websites have their own privacy policies and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for these policies.  Please check these policies before you submit any personal data to these websites.  Your use of third party web sites is at your own risk and subject to the terms and conditions of use for such web sites.  Where our Site contains links to other sites and resources provided by third parties, these links are provided for your information only.  We have no control over the contents of those sites or resources, and accept no responsibility for them or for any loss or damage that may arise from your use of them. 

7.  Security of Data 

We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy.  Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our Site; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to prevent unauthorized access.

8.  Our Commitment to Children's Privacy  

We are committed to complying with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. We do not knowingly collect or store any personal information about children under the age of 13. If you are under the age of 13, you are not authorized to provide personally identifying information. If a child has provided us with personally identifiable information, a parent or guardian of that child may contact us via email at info@amedu.com if they would like this information deleted from our records. We will use reasonable efforts to delete that child’s information from our databases.

9. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability  

We will not be liable if for any reason our Site is unavailable at any time or for any period.  We aim to update our Site regularly and may change the content at any time. Any of the material on our Site may be out of date at any given time, and we are under no obligation to update such material.  We do not assume any responsibility or risk for your use of the Internet.  

YOUR USE OF THE SITE IS AT YOUR OWN RISK.  COMMENTARY AND OTHER MATERIALS POSTED ON OUR SITE ARE NOT INTENDED TO AMOUNT TO ADVICE ON WHICH RELIANCE SHOULD BE PLACED. WE THEREFORE DISCLAIM ALL LIABILITY AND RESPONSIBILITY ARISING FROM ANY RELIANCE PLACED ON SUCH MATERIALS BY ANY USER OF OUR SITE, OR BY ANYONE WHO MAY BE INFORMED OF ANY OF ITS CONTENTS.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Adam Matthew Education Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, agents, affiliates, third party information providers, licensors, contractors, and others involved in the Site or the delivery of products, services, or information over the Site (collectively, the “Indemnified Parties”), from any breach of these Terms of Use by you, including any use of content other than as expressly authorized in these Terms of Use. You agree that the Indemnified Parties will have no liability in connection with any such breach or unauthorized use, and you agree to indemnify any and all resulting loss, damages, judgments, awards, costs, expenses, and attorneys' fees of the Indemnified Parties in connection therewith. You will also indemnify and hold the Indemnified Parties harmless from and against any claims brought by third parties arising out of your use of the information accessed from the Site.

11. General

These terms of use are governed by law of Illinois in the United States of America.  We make no representation that materials in the Site are appropriate or available for use in other locations.  If you access the Site from other locations, you are responsible for complying with local laws.

We may revise these terms of use at any time by amending this page or by publishing notices elsewhere on our Site.  These Terms of Use, as they may be amended from time to time, completely and exclusively state the agreement between you and us with respect to the Site, and no other terms that may have been communicated to you orally or in any other manner shall have any force or effect.  Any cause of action you may have with respect to the Site must be commenced within one (1) year after the claim or cause of action arises or such claim or cause of action is barred.
